Marlene Rosenberg has emerged as one of the most talented and multi-faceted bassists on
the scene today.
She has played professionally throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America and Japan,
performing with innumerable jazz luminaries, such as
Kenny Barron, Frank Foster, Ed Thigpen,
Stan Getz, Albert “Tootie” Heath, Joe Henderson, Marian McPartland, Cedar Walton, Monty
Alexander, Kevin Mahogany, Joe Williams, and Nancy Wilson.
Ms. Rosenberg has been featured on multiple recordings, including her own, self-released,
second CD,
PIECES OF… which soared to #24 on the Jazz charts with critical acclaim.
With a Masters of Music in Jazz Pedagogy from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Music in
Jazz Bass and Composition from The University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, she is now the
jazz bass instructor at Roosevelt University and facilitates as Applied Artist Music Faculty at
Northern Illinois University. The Chicago public high schools are proud to have her as a
mentor, teacher, clinician and performing artist.
