Juli Wood has had the opportunity to make music her passion and her life for the last 25 years.
She started playing classical music, then got in the groove with some great R&B music
with the bands, R&B CADETS and PAUL CEBAR AND THE MILWAUKEEANS.
Since 1993 her focus has been playing jazz and leading her own bands.
Ms. Wood plays alto, tenor, and baritone saxes, and she loves to sing! She has entertained
around the world at jazz festivals including Skansen Jazz and Blues Fest in Stockholm and
Pori Jazz in Finland. Ms. Wood has played extensively throughout the midwest at some of the
best places for jazz such as Andy’s, The Green Mill, and Green Dolphin St.
Juli has two CD’s,
MOVIN’ AND GROOVIN’ THE JULI WOOD QUINTET, which features Melvin Rhyne
on the organ, and
BLUES FOR EARMA JEAN, featuring a tribute to Chicago’s legendary pianist,
Earma Thompson.
She is a member of the PROHIBITION ORCHESTRA, R&B CADETS, RHYTHM CLUB and
VALLEY OF THE DOLLS.  Along with her partner/drummer, Mike Schlick, she has started a
new band called FUNKALICIOUS.
