Bobbi Wilsyn has appeared in several m musical productions as a singer-actress including BEEHIVE,
SOPHISTICATED LADIES and her latest triumph, IT AIN’T NOTHIN BUT THE BLUES.
Wilsyn sings with the multi-media performance troupe,
CERQUA RIVERA DANCE THEATRE, and her
pop-jazz combo, BOBBI WILSYN & CO with whom she recorded her CD,
IT’S ABOUT TIME.
She has gained national and international recognition as the featured jazz-blues vocalist with the
CHICAGO JAZZ ENSEMBLE, founded by the late William Russo and presently under the artistic
direction of trumpeter,
Jon Faddis. Wilsyn is an Artist- in-Residence who serves as the Voice Studies
Coordinator at Columbia College Chicago. In addition to teaching voice-related subjects, she has
directed the college’s productions of BLACK, BROWN AND BEIGE and THE UGLY DUCKLING and has
been the musical/choral director for RAGTIME, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, and GODSPEL.
She has performed and taught at many national and international Jazz festivals and workshops from
Chicago to Canada, Germany, Korea and Italy. Ms Wilsyn performs with the
ORBERT DAVIS QUINTET
on his CD,
PRIORITY, where she joins jazz singer, Kurt Elling, on the romantic ballad, MIDNIGHT IN
BAHIA
. She is also featured on the CD recordings THOMMY GUNTHER’S TASTE OF CHICAGO,
recorded live at the Tubingen Jazz Fest in Germany and the
CHICAGO JAZZ ENSEMBLE recordings,
KENTON A LA RUSSO and CHICAGO JAZZ ENSEMBLE.
